Reliability, integrity, respect, trust, and legally compliant actions have the highest priority for Sasol. In order to be able to avert possible damage in connection with Sasol business activities, it is important that Sasol becomes aware of possible legal and ethical violations at an early stage. 

Sasol takes the handling of whistleblower reports via the Sasol EthicsLine very seriously, processes every report submitted and initiates investigations where possible and necessary. We want to effectively protect you as a whistleblower. All reports submitted are completely confidential and you are not required to disclose your identity unless you specifically request it.

The Sasol EthicsLine is designed to record whistleblowers reporting violations of Union law, as well as violations of German law, in accordance with the EU Directive on the Protection of Individuals (EU 2019/1937). Sasol EthicsLine is designed to record notices regarding the following topics, this list is not exhaustive:

  • Abuse of influence
  • Bribery/Corruption
  • Fraud
  • Theft 
  • Accounting or disclosure irregularities 
  • Breach of Policy/Procedure
  • Bullying/Harassment
  • Sexual harassment or misconduct
  • Conflict of interest
  • Discrimination
  • Occupational safety/health
  • Supplier or other external misconduct
  • Human rights risk/violations 
  • Complaints under the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG)
  • Environment related risk
  • Other unethical behaviour or misconduct

Sasol EthicsLine also includes the function of the complaint’s procedure compliant with the Act on Corporate Due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains. It enables individuals to point out human rights and environmental risks as well as violations of human rights-related or environmental obligations that have arisen as a result of Sasol’s economic activities in its own business area - i.e., at its own premises - or those of a direct or indirect supplier of Sasol.

Reports are confidential and you are not required to reveal your identity unless you choose to do so. You should however provide as much information as possible to facilitate any subsequent action or investigation.

Please note however, that you also have the option of selecting to be partially anonymous, this means that your details will only be known by the EthicsLine (Deloitte) and not Sasol. This option is encouraged as it is often very difficult, if not impossible, to fully investigate call reports that are received anonymously. If your details are known by the Sasol EthicsLine this could also assist if additional information is needed to support the investigation as the EthicsLine would have a way of contacting you.

Remember! If you elect to remain anonymous it is important to periodically follow up on your call report by logging back into the system using your password and username that you will receive once you have completed your call.
